Push-ups and Pull-ups Challenge Workout

On Wednesdays, my husband and I do a 30 minute workout inspired the “The Challenge” from P90X. It’s alternating push-ups and pull-ups, 16 rounds. We give ourselves 90 seconds for each move (that includes the break) with a minute in between blocks. The goal is to set a target and try to accomplish it (or more) within the given amount of time. Do the workout again the week after, reassessing your goals. Here’s the format.

The Sequence:

Block 1 (2x)

  1. Wide pull-ups

  2. Standard push-ups

Block 2 (2x)

  1. Chin-up

  2. Military push-ups

Block 3 (2x)

  1. Close grip pull-up

  2. Wide push-up

Block 4 (2x)

  1. Vaulter pull-up

  2. Staggered push-up
