Push-ups and Pull-ups Challenge Workout

On Wednesdays, my husband and I do a 30 minute workout inspired the “The Challenge” from P90X. It’s alternating push-ups and pull-ups, 16 rounds. We give ourselves 90 seconds for each move (that includes the break). We include a minute break in between blocks. The goal is to set a target and try to accomplish it (or more) within the given amount of time. The point is to take diligent logs. We do the workout again the week after, reassessing your goals based on previous accomplishments. Here’s the format.

The Sequence:

Block 1 (2x)

  1. Wide pull-ups

  2. Standard push-ups

Block 2 (2x)

  1. Chin-up

  2. Military push-ups

Block 3 (2x)

  1. Close grip pull-up

  2. Wide push-up

Block 4 (2x)

  1. Vaulter pull-up

  2. Staggered push-up
