Baby Grasshopper: Drills to Practice
Poses like baby grasshopper made me fall in love with using body weight to build strength and balance. Here are the moves that helped me build up to the pose.
The Drill
I do each move for 30 seconds and do both sides.
Deep lunges.
Curtsy
Seated twist position + pushup, keeping the hips down to start.
Seated twist position + pushup with hips elevated.
Seated twist + ow pushup position + hips elevated + knee extensions.
Baby grasshopper: entry from seated twist.
Entering baby grasshopper from the low pushup is a great way to start, but you can also start from standing to challenge your squats.
