6 Minute Lower Body Mindful Cooldown

Mindful cooldowns are  my savasanas after intense workouts. This one is for the lower body which I do after agility workouts and it’s only 6 minutes. It’s 12 moves, held for 30 seconds each. This is 6 minutes of thanks yous to my body, my health and to that voice inside me that tells me to just try, without judgement. I think I’m kinder to myself because of these mindful cooldowns. I hope you try them.

The Sequence

  1. Standing quad stretch right

  2. Standing quad stretch left

  3. Pyramid right (lift balls of the front foot if that’s accessible)

  4. Pyramid left

  5. Forearm lunge with a twist side A

  6. Forearm lunge with a twist side B

  7. Forward fold side A (Flex feet)

  8. Forward fold  side B(flex feet)

  9. Seated figure four

  10. Seated figure four

  11. Wide legged fold

  12. Box Breathing
